How to Format Corrupt USB/ Memory Card



Today i will show you a tip how to format any type of memory card aor usb drive which cant be formatted or windows message appears like "Windows was unable to complete the format". If your USB or memory card is got corrupted by some virus and was unable to format you can simply use this trick to complete the formatting process.

Following are the Steps for Formatting Your Corrupt / Unformatable Memory Card or USB


METHOD 1:


1) Press windows button+R to start Run, and type cmd in the box then Click OK

2) The command prompt window appears.

3) Type the following command:
format E:
Note: Replace “E:” with the letter of your USB Flash Drive (in my case it was 'E').

For detailed list you can also use “diskpart” to list all drive letters.
4) If you want to format it as FAT32 then type:
format E: /FS:FAT32 Quick

5) Press Enter to confirm.

7) It will prompt you to enter a name for the drive, write it and hit Enter

8) You are DONE your drive is formatted now.

METHOD 2:




Some people may have got this message upon formatting usb drive that "Remove the write-protection or use another disk". Now you can solve this problem by this simple trick

1. Press Windows+R..

2. type diskmgmt.msc and press enter

3. right click on the partition you want to format (Confirm the drive letter and drive size before formatting)

4. select 'Delete Partition...' and confirm 
5.  Select CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY and press enter.

6.  Now SELECT PARTITION 1 and press enter.

7.  Type ACTIVE and then press enter.

8.  Type FORMAT FS=NTFS QUICK and press enter. It will format your USB Drive wait till  100% complete.

9.  Type ASSIGN and then press enter.

10. Type EXIT and press enter (Diskpart Will Exit).
